Adriana Montes is a shining example of resilience, determination, and the realization of the American Dream. Born in Cali, Colombia, in 1981, Adriana's journey began under challenging circumstances, growing up in a poverty-stricken community rife with violence and instability. Fleeing Colombia at the age of 18 as a political refugee, Adriana arrived in the United States with little more than courage, ambition, and the desire to create a better life for herself and her family.
Now a highly accomplished real estate broker, attorney, entrepreneur, and community leader, Adriana is the owner and CEO of Florida Dreams Realty Group, a boutique real estate firm headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Since its founding in 2010, Adriana's firm has grown to include over 20 offices across Central, South, and North Florida, employing a dedicated team of 20 real estate professionals. Under Adriana's leadership, the firm has achieved remarkable milestones, selling over 1,500 homes and generating more than $500 million in real estate volume over the last decade.
Adriana's expertise lies in Real Estate Owned (REO) properties, a niche market involving distressed properties owned by financial institutions. Her firm provides a full-service REO division, staffed by a team of experienced brokers and real estate professionals. This specialization has earned her widespread recognition, including being named one of the Top 250 Latino-Owned Brokerages in the United States by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) for over a decade. NAHREP, the largest Latino real estate trade association with over 44,000 members, has consistently highlighted Adriana's significant contributions to the industry.
Beyond brokerage, Adriana is a seasoned investor. Over the years, she has completed 200 property flips and built a personal portfolio of 101 rental units valued at $27 million. In 2021, Adriana pivoted her focus toward commercial real estate, acquiring multifamily properties generating annual revenues of approximately $2 million. In December 2022, she expanded her business into hospitality by purchasing a boutique beach hotel, now valued at $3 million, marking her transition into hotel ownership and management.
Adriana's academic achievements underscore her commitment to education as a cornerstone of her success. She holds a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on nonprofit organizational management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Central Florida. Her educational pursuits reflect her belief in lifelong learning and her drive to add value to her clients and community.
Her passion extends far beyond her professional endeavors. Adriana has dedicated countless hours to volunteering and community service. Highlights of her contributions include:
- Serving as a volunteer leader at Iglesia El Calvario for over a decade, organizing church activities and participating in mission trips to Guatemala and Honduras.
- Hosting a weekly radio show on Radio Luz 1270 AM for 13 years, offering free financial education to the Latino community on foreclosure alternatives and homeownership strategies.
- Volunteering with organizations like the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida and Second Harvest Food Bank, where she has mobilized over 100 volunteers and personally contributed her time to support those in need.
Adriana also uses her platform as a media host to inspire others. She produces and hosts "The Homebuyer Town Hall, Orlando Florida"; a real estate TV and podcast series available on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and other platforms. Through this show, she empowers viewers with knowledge about building wealth through real estate and achieving homeownership.
Adriana’s accomplishments have not come without challenges. From overcoming language barriers and financial hardship to navigating the complexities of building a business during economic downturns, her story is one of tenacity and innovation. She has not only survived but thrived, growing her businesses during the 2008 recession and again during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adriana’s dedication to empowering others, her entrepreneurial spirit, and her unwavering belief in education make her a role model for aspiring professionals. Her journey from a young refugee to a successful entrepreneur and community leader epitomizes resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of hard work. Adriana Montes continues to inspire countless individuals to pursue their own dreams and build generational wealth through real estate.
